AIDAF, ITALIAN FAMILY BUSINESS
was founded in 1997 by Alberto Falck together with a group of entrepreneurs inspired by the same values.
AIDAF proposes itself as the reference point in Italy for family businesses; today it brings together about 220 companies, which represent approximately 15% of the Italian GDP.
Of the members of the associated families, whether they are involved in the operational management of the company, young or old, bringing the non-family managerial front line closer to family business issues.
Towards national and European politicians for the maintenance and formation of a legal and regulatory context in favor of family businesses, their development and their continuity over time from one generation to the next.
Through the organization of moments of meeting and exchange of ideas to encourage the network of contacts between the associated entrepreneurial families.
AIDAF is the Italian Chapter of FBN – Family Business Network – the international institution that brings together 3,210 family businesses with more than 10,300 members in 58 countries around the world, allowing for a continuous exchange of international best practices and experiences to contribute to the training of the new generations of entrepreneurial families.
Since 2003 AIDAF has supported the “AIDAF – EY Chair of Family Business Strategy” in memory of Alberto Falck, at the Bocconi University of Milan led by Prof. Guido Corbetta, the only center in Italy of high quality specific training to affirm the relevance economic and social development of family businesses.
Since 2005 AIDAF has set up, together with the Bocconi University, the Unicredit Group and the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the AUB Observatory which monitors and analyzes the economic and financial performance of Italian family-owned companies with a turnover of over 20 million euros. publishing an annual report.
In the characteristic programs of the Association there is the development of a series of institutional activities that allow to oversee, through qualified work tables, a constant dialogue with the Italian institutions and government bodies on issues close to the needs of the member companies – Tax & Law Probate, Corporate & Company Law, Governance, Labor and Welfare -.
